  • Class 1 –  Ustaadh reviewed to page 6 of the book:  Sarf Level One (Introduction to Sarf, Linguistic and Scientific meanings).
  • Class 2 –  Ustaadh reviewed from pages 7 to 9 of the book (Definition of Sarf, Masdar).

  • Class 3 –  Ustaadh reviewed from page 9 to 15 (The subject of Sarf, types of words, types of times, the scale)
  • Class 4 – Ustaadh reviewed from pages 15 to 23  (weighing words with extra letters, introduction to chapters:  The Maadhee, the Mudhaari`)

  • Class 5 –  Ustaadh reviewed the conjugation tables on page 24, 25 –  Conjugating the Maadhee – the mutakallim form (first person –  “I , we”)

  • Class 6 –  Conjugating the Maadhee in five mukhaatab forms (you) –  the one spoken to (second person) including info on Taa`ul-faa`il, Aliful-ithnayn, meem jama`a, and نون جمع الإناث  noon jama`a al-inaath.  Conjugating the maadhee in the six ghaa’ib forms – the one spoken about (3rd person)  whether they be present or absent, including info on  the silent taa of femininity  taa’ut-ta`neethis-saakinatu   تَاءُ التَّأنِيثِ السَّاكِنَةُ   and وَاوُ الجَمعِ – واوُ الجَمَاعَةِ waawul-jam`  and Alif faariqah below are conjugations –  not all of them completed, Ustaadh left some for students to complete on their own.

  • Class 7 – Conjugating the Mudhaari` (verb in present tense) covered three form: 1st person (al-mutakallim) (I and We), and 2nd person (al-Mukhaatab) (you 1m).   Ustaadh explained the writing and pronunciation of the occurrence of a vowelled hamzah followed by a non vowelled hamzah

  • Class 8: Finishing the conjugation of the mukhaatab forms …other topics of this review session are:  yaa ul mukhaatabah  (ya of the single female spoken to)  The huruuful-`illah that come after the laamul kaalimah in 3 of the mukhaatab  ( Ta`faleena, ta`fulaani, ta`fuluuna) – the alif, yaa and waaw –  the corresponding harakaat are the “mothers” of these huruuful-`illah…fathah is mother of alif, kasrah is mother of yaa’ and dhammah is mother of waaw,  also aliful ihtnayn (Alif of duality), waawul-jama’ah (waaw of group), noonul-inaath (noon of femailes).

  • Class 9 – Completing conjugating the mudhaari` and this for the third person – Al- Ghaa’ib, this has 6 different forms which are covered in this class.  The typical example of the mudhaari` –  yaf`ulu  (he does).  The scale for chapters is:  fa`ala / yaf`ulu (he did / he does).  Other topics include:  Mujarrad, Mazeed,

    Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

    I am bit confused with the classes, I want to catch up with the tasreeful Izzy book sarf book 1 on
    or should I first start with ?

    I’m a bit confused, In shaa Allaah I shall continue with tasreeful izzy as I have already started and try my best to catch up but I saw that ustaadh already finished level 2 but in shaa Allaah I shall try my best.

    Perhaps if you could advise me the best way to approach this. I have a lot of free time alhamdulillaah now my holiday has started and I am willing to work hard. Baarak Allaahu feekum.

      We have not yet completed the Establishing the Principles Sarf Course Level Two (continuing with Tasreeful Izzy), however the classes are on hold at this time.
