— Interpretation of the text —
So to start with (the first of that) is: ( a`uudhu billaahi minash-shaytaanir-rajeem). “A`uudhu” is a present verb, the sign of it being a mudhaari` is the hamzah in it’s begining. And the sign of its Raf` is the dhammah at its end.
— Summary Of The Class —
Tanween – This is the silent noon that comes in the end of a noun in pronounciation not in writting.
we studied the types of kalimah. which are:
Al-ism الاسم : this is a word that gives a meaning by itself, not related to one of the three time frames
Al-fil الفعل: this is a word that gives a meaning and is related to one of the three time frames.
Al-harf الحرف: this is a word giving a meaning not by itself.
Principle – التنوين لا يجامع (ال) أبدا – The tanween never comes with (Al)

What is Al-I’raab?
It is defined as: an apparent trace or a hidden one, which a factor makes at the end of the word, or what takes its ruling.
The different harakaat which make the different sounds with the word pronounced, are brought by factors called `awaamil (عوامل) in Arabic and its singular is called `aamil (عامل). And the `aamil brings to the end of the word one of the following:
A dhammah, which makes the U sound ( as in “tube”).
A kasrah, which makes the E sound (as in “tea”).
A fathah, which makes the A sound (as in “hat”).
A sukoon, which basically has no sound.
What is meant by, ‘or what takes its rulling’?
Some words have their ends cut off like يَدْيٌ (the Arabs say يَدٌ) – the yaa’ had gone away and the daal took the gramatical position of the yaa’.
